Loneliness is not simply an existential issue but a result of the policies that were implemented during the Memorandum. Solidarity came about as the answer to social isolation. The documentary about the Social Clinic of Solidarity in Thessaloniki begins with the main cause of its creation, the hunger strike of 300 immigrant workers in 2011. Through the witnesses’ stories of the patients and the members of the social clinic the documentary tries to capture the phenomenon of exclusion from the right to health. The clinic during the worst humanitarian crisis serves the primary health needs of citizens, both immigrants and Greeks, who suddenly found the doors of the National Health System closed. At the same time the documentary seeks the answer to the question of whether solidarity can be “transfused” into society through these structures.
