Fredrick Wanyama

Fredrick O. Wanyama holds a PhD in Political Science from Maseno University and Masters and Bachelor Degrees in Government from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and Director of the School of Development and Strategic Studies at Maseno University. Specializing in the interface between

local organizations and politics in African development, he has contributed many chapters to academic books. His articles have appeared in many refereed journals including Africa Development, The East African Journal of Human Rights and Democracy, Regional Development Studies, Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics and Journal of Cooperative Studies. He is a co-editor of Cooperating out of Poverty: the Renaissance of the African Cooperative Movement (Geneva: ILO, 2008). Dr. Wanyama is a Fellow of the Five College African Scholars Program, Amherst, Massachusetts, USA and has served as a consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO)
